KCSON in Numbers

Brief History

  • 2003Our Roots

The network began in 2003 as the Kibaale Civil Society Organizations Network, bringing together local CSOs in Kibaale district. Its founding purpose was to create a platform for dialogue, coordination, and advocacy, enabling organizations to work collectively in addressing governance, accountability, and community development challenges.
  • ............Our Evolution

As the network extended its activities beyond Kibaale district into the wider Bunyoro sub-region, it was rebranded as the Kitara Civil Society Organizations Network (KCSON). This growth enabled KCSON to bring together more organizations, build stronger partnerships, and become a recognized voice for civil society in the region.
  • .........The Road Ahead

KCSON envisions “a vibrant and coordinated civil society where development is attained in a just and peaceful society.” Moving forward, the network seeks to broaden membership, deepen partnerships, and harness innovation to champion inclusive, accountable, and sustainable development in the region.
