During KCSON joint monitoring with DNRO Kikuube and NFA on interventions geared towards conserving Bugoma forest, the District Natural Resources Officer thanked KCSON for supplementing on government work especially supporting communities adjacent the forest with alternative livelihood options to avoid over dependence on the natural resources as means of survival.
The team visited St. Joseph Technical Institute where KCSON is supporting 8 youths out of school with hands on skills from communities adjacent Bugoma forest, 75 hectare plantation of both exotic and indigenous trees planted by Mpanga Conservation Development Association, Kwonga clan forest and Itohya forest in Kizirmfumbi Sub-county. the team also visited KCSON supported projects like passion fruit growing where one woman identified as Grace got 15m from the first harvest, mushroom growing, apiary among others.
