KCSON Holds 2025 Annual General Meeting

KCSON successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the year ended 31st December 2025 on Monday, 27th April 2026 at URDT Center for Reflection-Kagadi, bringing together over 50 civil society organizations, development partners, and key stakeholders.

The meeting provided a platform to reflect on the network’s performance over the past year, while also setting strategic direction for 2026 and beyond. Key agenda items included the presentation and review of the annual performance report, the Treasurer’s report, and the 2026 costed work plan.

Key Highlights from 2025

During the meeting, members were presented with significant achievements registered across KCSON’s strategic focus areas. These included:

  • Advocacy for good governance and accountability, with over 1,200 citizens engaged across diverse community groups to strengthen participation and oversight
  • Improved public service delivery, supported through active engagement in 16+ planning and budgeting processes at district level
  • Enhanced action on natural resources, livelihoods, and climate change, including:
    • 6,031 farmers trained in climate-smart agriculture
    • 19 Community Forest Management (CFM) agreements supported
    • 5,500+ individuals reached through renewable energy awareness initiatives
  • Youth and livelihoods support, with 40 young people equipped with green entrepreneurship skills
  • Progress in social protection and health, including 5,800 clients re-linked to HIV treatment services and 200 children supported to stay in school

These achievements reflect KCSON’s continued commitment to strengthening civil society and amplifying community voices across the Bunyoro sub-region.

Priorities for 2026

During the AGM, members and stakeholders prioritized key focus areas that will guide KCSON’s work in 2026. These include:

  • Strengthening capacity building and membership support across the network
  • Advancing the construction of the KCSON institutional home, with a target of reaching roofing level
  • Conducting a midterm review of the 2023–2027 Strategic Plan to assess progress and refine direction
  • Enhancing QUAM processes for member organizations
  • Deepening engagement with oil and gas sector stakeholders to safeguard community interests
