KCSON under the FRECAR project has supported the integration of Village Saving and Lending Associations (VSLA) in selected groups as a way of improving livelihoods especially among communities adjacent to CFRs such as Kagombe, Bugoma. Members of these groups are able to save and borrow and have used this money to do a number of things including Paying school fees/supporting children in school; starting up small businesses; seeking medical care among others.

A case in point is Greater Kabale-Kagombe Environmental Conservation group found in Nyamarunda Sub County-Kibaale District that started saving on 8^th July 2022 and by 10^th March 2023 (After 8 months), had a saving portfolio of UGX  18, 290, 000/=
