Stake Holders Monitoring of The FRECAR Project

For two days, 12th–13th June 2023, KCSON joined other stakeholders to monitor the Forest Regeneration for Enhanced Carbon Stocks in the Albertine Region (FRECAR) project, reviewing progress and identifying key actions for improvement.

The monitoring team included KCSON staff, WWF UCO staff (both Kagadi field office and National office in Kampala), WWF Denmark staff, Face the Future staff, NFA staff, political leaders, and community members.

Several sites were visited, including:

  • Nsugasugi Environmental Conservation Association (NECA) apiary site in Nsugasugi, Kagadi Subcounty
  • Coffee and tree farmers in Nyamarunda Subcounty
  • Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) groups in both Kagadi and Kibaale Districts
  • Livestock beneficiaries
  • Mushroom growing sites, among others

These visits provided valuable insights into project achievements, challenges, and opportunities for enhancing impact in the target communities.
